Los animales que se han sumado a este recorrido territorial lo hacen impulsados por varios motivos. El primero es la necesidad que existe por conocer más y mejor nuestro territorio para así poder entenderlo, quererlo y protegerlo de forma verdadera. Como animales habitantes de los distintos ecosistemas y hábitats que están dentro, en las orillas y cerca del río, estamos preocupado porque el proyecto del Quimbo va avanzando con un fuerte impulso que hace que muchos no se den cuenta de que los medios de comunicación mienten acerca de que el proyecto ya es un hecho cuando la verdad es que la licencia ambiental ha sido suspendida y se autorizó un estudio de impacto alternativo al que hizo la empresa. A pesar de que nuestros ecosistemas ya están seriamente degradados y necesitados de una fuerte rehabilitación, este proyecto busca arrasar con toda la vegetación de la zona del embalse para tratar inútilmente de detener los gases emitidos por la descomposición de la materia orgánica en el agua que contribuyen al cambio climático.
Desde abajo de cada piedra y arriba trepados en cada rama, todos queremos cambios profundos en la manera como viven los seres humanos. Queremos que reencuentren el equilibrio necesario para poder sostenerse en la tierra sin maltratarla con el uso de químicos y venenos que matan su mayor tesoro, la vida. Pero esos cambios hacia algo mejor son imposibles si nuestro territorio es convertido en una sepultura acuática. Por eso, nuestro recorrido por el territorio es una acción directa no violenta de la juventud de ésta y otras regiones para decir un rotundo NO al Quimbo!!! Nosotrxs de ninguna manera queremos que nuestra historia, herencia, cultura, biodiversidad y territorio sea robado por una inundación y por el saqueo de nuestra región por parte de los intereses económicos de una empresa multinacional, española además, que hace falsas promesas de progreso y desarrollo sin siquiera consultar con las comunidades más afectadas a quienes sólo se ha dirigido para informar sobre sus planes. Todo lo que significa el río se perdería... la pesca, los sancochos los domingos y festivos, la natación con clavados desde peñones y puentes, los paseos en neumáticos por la corriente del rió y mucho mas... un embalse es otra cosa al agua viva que corre libre,
es agua estancada que ni siquiera se permite usar para irrigación de los cultivos porque también pertenece a la empresa propietaria de la represa.Como animales que venimos de entre las piedras del río, de los bosques riparios, de las distintas quebradas que en él desembocan, de los potreros, parcelas y vegas de los alrededores, desde los nidos encima de los peñones que el río ha ido forjando durante millones de años hasta las madrigueras subterráneas en las orillas del río, unidos hacemos un llamado por medio de ladridos, gritos, zumbidos y otros cantos a lxs hermanxs seres humanxs del territorio, especialmente a los jóvenes, para que por favor pongan de su parte para derrotar la amenaza de este monstruo que quiere acabar con nuestra geografía y desplazarnos al olvido y el destierro. Todo acto cultural, simbólico, mediático, artístico, directo y no violento hacia la NO construcción de la represa del Quimbo es una gota de agua en la ola que se necesita para mandar lejos esta amenaza.
Cada día que la represa del Quimbo avanza por el camino de su construcción sin oposición amplia y popular, es un paso más hacia un trauma devastador que provocaría que muchos habitantes de los que serían reubicados y de las zonas cercanas no se podrían adaptar.La luna de actuar es ahora. Tenemos una herencia, un futuro y todo un territorio que defender!!!

una diversidad de animales del Valle del Alto Magdalena ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This week different animals from Huila as well as international animals descendended from the region will be walking, flying, climbing, swimming and floating through the valley of Magdalena from the stream of Cuchas above la Jagua to the mouth of the river Paez in the municipality of Gigante.
The animals that have joined in this territorial exploration do so for a number of principles. The first is that we must know our territory better to be able to truly understand it, love it and protect it. As inhabitants of different habitats and ecosystems within the river, by the shores, and near the river, we are concerned about the project of Quimbo that is progressing with such a strong momentum that many of us do not realize that the media continues to lie that the project is already done even though the environmental license has been suspended and a alterantive impact study to the one done by the company has been authorized. Already our ecosystems are seriously degraded and needing a strong rehabilitation, though this project seeks raze all vegetation in the area of the dam to try in vain to stop the gases emitted by decomposing organic matter in water that contribute to climate change. 
From beneath every stone and above perched in every branch, all of us want profound changes in how the humans live. For them to recover that equilibrium of living from the land without mistreating it and filling her with chemicals and poisons, killing what it has that is has that is so special, life. But these changes for something better will be impossible if our territory is left to coverd by an aquatic burial. Our territorial journay is also a non violent direct action of the youth of this and other regions to send a resounding, NO Quimbo! We do not want our history, heritage, culture, biodiversity and territory stolen by the flooding and the looting of our region by the economic interests of a multinational company, Spanish none the less, that comes giving false promises of progress and development when it never even consulted with the most affected communities, they only appear to inform. 
If the river is lost, we loose free fishing, sancochos (soups) on Sundays and holidays, swimming, diving from the cliffs and bridges, floating down river in inner tubes and much more ... a reservoir is a different thing, a stagnant pool that the use of water for irrigation is not even allowed because that also would belong to the company. As animals that come from among the stones of the river, the riparian forests, the streams that spill into the river, from the surrounding pastures, meadows and fields, from the nests way up above the river in the cliffs that the water has carved during millions of years to below in the underground burrows along the banks of the river, we unify our cries, howls, crows, buzzes and calls to the humans of the territory, especially the youth. Please do your part in defeating the threat of this monster that wants to finish with our geography and move us close to oblivion. Any cultural, symbolic, media, artistic, and non violent direct actions towards a NO construction of the Quimbo dam is a drop of water in the wave that is needed to eliminate this threat.
Every day that the Quimbo progresses towards construction without a broad, vocal and popular opposition is a step closer towards a trauma so devastating that many inhabitants that would be relocated to and those from surrounding areas will not be able to adapt.The moon to act is now, we have a heritage, a future and a entire territory to defend!
