A mediados de septiembre, los grupos La Sospecha Criminal, Contra Via y Arepas, Chocolate y Resistencia, organizaron el Fin d Semana d Música y Contracultura para tratar de recolectar fondos para poder abrir un espacio comunitario en la ciudad de Manizales. El sindicato de educadores, Educal, muy amablemente presto el espacio de su auditorio para los eventos que incluyeron dos talleres de estampado, una charla de Plan Colombia por parte d la Colmena y un performance de malabares por parte del Colectivo Gritos de Esperanza de Medellín el sábado y el domingo un concierto donde bandas de Manizales, Bogotá, Ibagué, Pereira y Medellín tocaron un concierto de casi todo el día. 
También se pudo ir a la Universidad de Caldas y ver un poco mas de que paso en Manizales durante el paro estudiantil en mayo de este año y conocer las personas que trabajan en el Observatorio de Conflictos Ambientales que viene acompañando comunidades que serian afectadas por la represas hidroeléctricas por el rio Guarinó y el rio Manso. El Observatorio esta ubicada en el Jardín Botánico de la Universidad que es un bosque de neblina inmensa en el medio de la ciudad. Mientras que a las Abejas le gusto mucho Manizales la ida era muy corto y el esperemos poder formar un enjambre pronto pa´ poder regresar y seguir cruz polinizando.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Around mid September the groups La Sospecha Criminal, Contra Via y Arepas, Chocolate y Resistencia, organized the Weekend of Music and Counterculture to help raise funds to be able to open a community space in the city of Manizales. The Educators Union, Educal, very kindly lent the space of their auditorium for the events that included two silk screening skillshares, one Plan Colombia Beehive storytelling and a performance by jugglers who part of the collective Colectivo Gritos de Esperanza from Medellín on Saturday and Sunday a concert where bands from Manizales, Bogotá, Ibagué, Pereira and Medellín played nearly for the entire day. We were also able to go to the Universidad de Caldas and see a bit of what went down here during the studen
t strike in May of this year and meet the folks at the Observatory of Environmental Conflicts who are accompanying the communities that would be affected by the hydroelectric dams to be placed on the rio Guarinó and the rio Manso. The Observatory is located in the University´s Botanical Garden which is an immense area of cloud forest in the middle of the city. While the Bees really enjoyed Manizales the flight was all too short and we hope to reswarm in that direction soon and be able to further cross pollinate over there.
