Las abejas llevamos mucho tiempo que no aterrizábamos en Wounmainkat ( "nuestra tierra" - de los Wayuu). Aunque nuestro enjambre está en proceso de metamorfosis, viendo como nos plantamos de nuevo como organismo en el nuevo hogar del Alto Guacahayo, seguimos intercambiando zumbidos con las comunidades y agrupaciones con quien hemos polinizado en el pasado y conectándonos con amigxs que nos falta para conocer. Viniendo de la resistencia en contra del Proyecto Hidroeléctrico el Quimbo, tuvimos el gran privilegio de volver a La Guajira para compartir con seres de la Nación Wayuu. Volamos hasta la comunidad de Zahino, en la Baja Guajira donde se realizaba un conversatorio organizado y convocado por el Comité de Jóvenes del Resguardo junto con la Fuerza de Mujeres Wayuu. 
El enfoque del espacio fue la preocupación que hay en los sectores de la comunidad y entre comunidades por el tema de los procesos de consulta previa inadecuados que está llevando a cabo el Ministerio de Interior en la zona. Proyectos como de la empresa Brasilera MPX que incluye la explotación y transporte de carbón por lo cual construirán su propia línea férrea y tendrán parte del embarcadero del Puerto Brisa. No faltaba que la empresa hiciera convenios con le organización “verde” capitalista, Conservación Internacional, para hacer un “lavado verde” de su imagen para poder disfrazar la destrucción socio-ambiental bajo la lema del progreso y desarrollo.
Entonces Zahino en una reflexión interna el pasado 21 de agosto dijo NO de manera rotunda a las empresas MPX y Pacific Rubiales, MPX que buscan implementar el proyecto minero y la línea férrea que atravesará la comunidad y la Pacific Rubiales para exploración de hidrocarburos.
Sin embargo después de ello, las empresas han enviado distintos representantes para platicar con individuos de la comunidad para incidir en un cambio de decisión para permitir el proyecto. Como vemos en muchas partes, las empresas están intentando fomentar divisiones dentro de la comunidad para poder adelantar sus proyectos de destrucción de las mismas.
Ante esta amenaza la comunidad está haciendo todo lo posible para formar y educar a sus integrantes de lo que significaría un proyecto de estos para el territorio. Por primera vez se está haciendo el trabajo para poder hacer una consulta autónoma interna en las distintas comunidades que serán afectadas. Zahino será la primera comunidad que realiza una consulta de esta manera. Que se entienda que la consulta autónoma no es para decir si, sino que con todo el conocimiento de causa puedan decir que no. 
Estos espacios son para la reflexión entre toda la comunidad y para llamar la atención a las otras comunidades que están haciendo a toda marcha un proceso de consulta completamente inadecuado.
Al final del conversatorio PUTCHIMAAJANA, hicimos una muestra y contamos la historia sobre la obra del “Costo del Carbón”. Las personas presentes estaban atentas a la explicación y los detalles de la obra y que significa cada escena. Aunque breve, se pudo intercambiar algo de experiencias y conocimientos de otros territorios que han resistido proyectos como los que amenazan este territorio y también poder conocer un poco más del proceso de esta zona. 
Aunque esta no fue la primera vez que el Costo del Carbón fue compartido en Wounmainkat, si fue la primera vez de poder polinizar con una organización tan digna e integra como la Fuerza de Mujeres Wayuu. Nos fuimos con ganas de ver cuando y como podemos volver y seguir intercambiando zumbidos para ver como apoyar el proceso de lucha y resistencia que estas y estos gigantes llevan en su territorio tan rico y bello.

The bees have gone a long time without landing in Wounmainkat (“our land”- the Wayuu´s land that is). While our Polinizaciones Swarm has been in a process of metamorphosis seeing how we redefine ourselves as an organism in our new home of the Upper Alto Guacahayo, we continue to exchange buzzings with communities and groups that we have pollinated with in the past and are creating connections with friends we have yet to meet.
Coming from the resistance against the Quimbo Hydroelectric Project, we had the great privilege to return to La Guajira to share with friends from the Wayuu Nation. 
We flew to the community of Zahino, in the Lower Guajira where a discussion on mining was being held, organized by the Youth Committee of the Resguardo (Reservation) along with the Fuerza de Mujeres Wayuu (Strength of Wayuu Women). The focus of this space is the preoccupation there is within the community and amongst different communities regarding the process of inadequate prior consultation that the Ministry of Interior is realizing in the region. Projects such as those of the Brazilian company MPX, that seeks to extract and transport coal by means of a private railway and port in Puerto Brisa. Not surprising, this company has joined with the “green” capitalist organization, Conservation International, to “green wash” MPX´s image to disguise socio-environmental destruction under a banner of progress and development.
So in Zahino during an internal reflection and mobilization this past August 21st, the community gave a solid NO to the prescence of the companies MPX and Pacific Rubiales within the territory. MPX seeks to implement the mining and railway project that would cut across the community and Pacific Rubiales also has desires to explore for and extract hydrocarbons in the area. None the less, after this public pronouncement the companies have continued to send representatives to speak with individuals from the community in efforts to push for a change in decision to allow the projects. As seen in many areas, the companies are trying to foment divisions within the community to be able to go forward with their projects of destruction.
Amidst these threats the communities are doing everything possible to orient and educate their members regarding what would these projects mean for their territory. 
For the first time the groundwork is being laid to be able to realize an autonomous, internal consultation process within the distinct communities that would be affected by the projects. Zahino will be the first community to have ever realized a consultation process in this manner, with a clear understanding that an autonomous consultation is not to say yes to the project but to be able to have all of the knowledge prior to the making of the decision and having the option of saying no. These spaces are for the collective reflection of the entire community and to call to alert and attention the other communities that are already going ahead full speed with prior consultation processes that are completely inadequate.
At the end of the discussion PUTCHIMAAJANA, we had a showing and storytelling of the “Cost of Coal” graphic. 
Those that were present were attentive to the story telling of each detail within the artwork and what each scene represented. While it was a short presentation we were able to exchange experiences and knowledge of other territories that have resisted projects such as the ones that threaten this territory as well as learn more about the process in this region. While this was not the first time that the “Cost of Coal” was shared within Wounmainkat, it was the first time that we were able to pollinate with the deeply committed, coherent and integral organization that is the Fuerza de Mujeres Wayuu. We left with a desire to return, hopefully soon, to continue to exchange buzzings and to see how we can support the process of struggle and resistance that these giants are leading within their beautiful and rich territory.
