Aterrizamos unas abejas en las tierras de la Universidad Nacional (UNAL) cuyas hormigas se encuentran en asamblea permanente y anormalidad indefinida hasta que las directivas decidan negociar dignamente frente a las reformas que han venido realizando. En fin, fueron llegando para apreciar la obra sobre “Plan Colombia” y como hormigas de biblioteca aportaron a una conversación que se extendió casi 3 horas, todas teníamos tiempo, ¡estábamos en paro!
Todas, abejas y hormigas nos mostrábamos de acuerdo en que el gasto militar tan alto solo les servia a las multinacionales y mientras se gastan la platica en helicópteros, armas, entrenamiento militar, oleoductos e infraestructura para un cierto tipo de modelo de desarrollo la educación se deja de un lado y no es tenida en cuenta como un factor importante de inversión, sino que se entiende como un gasto innecesario, dicen los gobernantes: -además estamos educando es puras hormigas rebeldes-; y tanto es así que la situación de la Universidad Pedagógica es de casi quiebra, la UNAL no es que tenga los mejores presupuestos para desarrollarse autónomamente, ah! Pero eso sí, las mafias burocráticas siguen funcionando, altos administrativos que se quedan con la platica, ¡que buen negocio son ya la Universidades!
Entonces cuando llegamos a la parte de los “zancudos” que roban la información genética de los árboles, las plantas y campos para hacerla propiedad privada (derechos de autor), vimos que la Universidad actualmente no es tan autónoma, así muchas y muchos queramos. Por ejemplo, el Instituto de Biotecnología (IBUN) desarrolla investigaciones sobre modificación genética de semillas, como caucho (financiado por la empresa Mavalle S.A) y en la producción de biofertilizantes relacionados con el Bt, extracción de etanol de la palma aceitera (todo esto del grupo de investigación de “Bioprocesos” que funciona desde los años 80’s); existen otros grupos como “Biopesticidas”, “Bionegocios”, “Bioinformática” y otros1, financiados por empresas que solo quieren el campo para sembrar alimentos para las maquinas y no para la gente, entonces la Universidad Pública se ha vuelto un lugar de investigaciones que les sirven a las multinacionales y eso también conectado a que esta es una forma de financiación de Universidad ante los bajos ingresos que recibe del gobierno, entonces la Universidad busca financiación empresarial y preguntábamos ¿Para quienes estábamos estudiando? ¿a quien les sirven nuestras investigaciones? Otro ejemplo, es que muchos estudiantes de Ingenierías realizan sus investigaciones, tanto en pregrado y postgrado, para empresas como Mazda y nos preguntábamos ¿Cuál es el modelo de Universidad que queremos?
La universidad se encuentra actualmente en Asamblea Permanente y en Anormalidad académica, por que las Directivas (una elite como cualquier otra elite que solo le importan sus intereses y visiones) mandadas por la Casa de Nariño, quieren implantar una universidad eficiente y eficaz, es decir, empresarial; entonces el 15 de abril aprobaron un Estatuto Estudiantil (acuerdo 008), que responde a una visión y misión de la universidad y a unas reformas académicas en donde el estudiante debe acabar lo más rápido posible la carrera, pues te dan una bolsa de créditos y te ponen a pensar en cuantos créditos tengo para estudiar, es decir cuanto tengo para poder gastar (lógica costo/beneficio=empresarial) y no sirve para que los insectos estudiantes digan: “que quiero estudiar” y aprovechar la diversidad académica de la U. 
Por otro lado quieren meter un estatuto de orden y convivencia el cual fortalece un modelo de seguridad (democrática) que reprime las expresiones estudiantiles y rebeldes pues cualquier actividad que irrumpa la normalidad académica (entiéndase normalidad como clases en jaulas, horarios determinados para aprender, profesores que creen tener la verdad absoluta, en fin educación tradicional) es objeto de expulsión!; además quieren implantar un esquema de seguridad y supuestamente abrir la universidad a la ciudad, es decir, quitar la reja y poner 500 cámaras más, además la policía seguramente tendría acceso y el control espacial y territorial sería más fuerte; también quieren hacer de la universidad un centro comercial, con una plazoleta de comidas y con un pasaje peatonal que conecte el Transmilenio de la Kra 30 con el de la calle 26. En fin, parece que las directivas solo quieren un modelo de estudiante juicioso, callado, respetuoso de las leyes (injustas) de este país, que no sea crítico ni que se le ocurra pensar y hacer por si mismo, es un estudiante obediente de las necesidades del mercado, las empresas y el Estado: ¿modelo de Universidad empresarial?
Frente a ese modelo de desarrollo para las empresas y las maquinas, y no para la gente, hablábamos de cómo empresas como Nestle están detrás de la privatización del campo cuando compran nuestro café a los precios muy bajos y nos implantan una sola variedad, haciendo dependiente al caficultor y al agricultor, también cuando en vez de haber tierras para los campesinos hay tierras para las vacas, un mercado controlado por grandes terratenientes y empresas y también escarabajos paramilitares; Coca-Cola que impulsan modelos de privatización del agua, con su empresa Manantial nos sacan el agua de la Calera, de Chingaza, pero también empresas como Agua Cristal que está metida en el macizo colombiano quedándose con el agua de indígenas y campesinos.
Frente a esto, lo que hablamos con las hormiguitas universitarias era que es importante nosotros también sembrar, no solo ideas sino también plantas y árboles y tal es el caso de una serie de huertas universitarias (¡hoy ya son 6: “La Manuelita” en agronomía, “Maloka” o “EEE” en humanas, “Girasoles” entre derecho y medicina, la de biología, la de económicas y últimamente la de arquitectura¡) en donde variadas especies de insectos estudiantes han sembrado maíz, fríjol, arracacha, zanahoria, más maíz, quinua, espinaca, acelga, papa, tabaco, girasoles, lulo y bueno mucho maíz y otras muchas plantas, además de varios árboles en una campaña de reforestación y reapropiación de los espacios verdes de la Universidad, es decir, es una invitación a que no solo se hable de territorio en la universidad, sino que se hagamos territorio en nuestra cotidianidad y en nuestra universidad. 
Hay que denunciar que ya dos veces los de seguridad han sido mandados a tumbar unas instalaciones del banco de semillas construidas por las propias hormigas y otros insectos, ¡la han tumbado dos veces en menos de un mes! También arrancaron unas plantas de maíz, todo esto en “La Manuelita”… ¿a quien será que le molesta la vida y que uno siembre plantas en vez de guerras? En fin, “si las tumban, nacerán más huertas” nos dijeron los insectos estudiantes.Gustó mucho el espiral del tiempo y el contraste entre la pesadilla y la resistencia de las hormigas, muchas risas, sobretodo cuando hablamos de la importancia de la fiesta popular en donde la chicha, el guarapo y el chirrincho se comparte en vez de tomar tanta cerveza, ¡a estos insectos estudiantes como que les gusta la fiesta, la música y la alegría!
Entonces concluimos, y pensábamos que el modelo de universidad que queremos no puede servirle a las multinacionales como ya está sucediendo, que nuestras investigaciones y reflexiones, nuestras propuestas deben ayudar a fortalecer procesos no solo del movimiento estudiantil sino también hacia fuera, hacia el pueblo tan diverso, tan campesino, tan indígena, tan afro, tan gitano, tan barrial, tan sencillo…es decir ¡una universidad para la gente o pal’ pueblo!, y que los cambios debemos comenzar a realizar los en los salones de clase, en los espacios de discusión, en las asambleas, en las huertas sembrando y en la fiesta cantando canciones de rebeldía y autonomía.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some of us bees have landed on the lands of the Universidad Nacional (UNAL) where the ants are in permanent assembly and an indefinite abnormality until the directors decide to negotiate with dignity regarding the reforms that have been occurring. 
In the end, the ants started arriving in appreciation of the Plan Colombia graphic and the library ants came out and participated in a story telling that was almost three hours long. Though we had all the time we need because, we are on strike!
All of the ants and bees saw for ourselves how in accord with military spending that is only good for transnational companies and while the money is spent on helicopters, arms, military training, oil pipelines and infrastructure for a certain type of development model, education is left on the side and is not considered an important factor in terms of investment. Instead it is seen as a unnecessary expense and that those who govern say that: -anyways we are only educating rebellious ants-; for instance the situation of the Universidad Pedagógica that is nearly bankrupt and the UNAL does not exactly have the best funds to development it self autonomously either, ah! 
Though be assure that the bureaucratic mafias continue functioning, the high administration keeps their money and what a good business the Universities have become!
When we arrived at the scene where the mosquitoes are stealing the genetic information from the trees, plants and the rural areas to turn it into private property (copyright material) we started to reflect how the University is really not that autonomous the way many of us want it to be. For example, the Instituto de Biotecnología (IBUN) develops investigation regarding genetically modified seeds such as rubber (financed by the company Mavalle S.A) and in the production of biofertilizers related to Bt, the extraction of ethanol from oil palm. All of this from the investigation group of “Bioprocesos” that has been functioning since the 1980s amongst other groups in existance such as “Bipesticidas”, “Bionegocios”, “Bioinformática” and others financed by corporations that want the rural areas to plant food crops for the consumption of machines and not people. 
So the
Currently the university is in a Permanent Assembly and in Academic Abnormality, because Management (an elite like any other elite that only cares about their interests and visions) sent by the Casa de Nariño wants to impose an efficient and effective University, make it business like. 
On April 15th the Estatuto Estudiantil (acuerdo 008) is approved, guiding the vision and mission for the university’s reforms. One of its academic reforms is that students must finish their studies as quickly as possible, giving students a bag of credits and change our mind frame into how many credits we have to study. In other words, how much does a student have to waste (logical cost/benefit=business) and does not support the insect students who say: I want to study and take advantage of the University’s academic diversity. On the other hand they also want to enact a statute of order and conviviality that strengthens a model of (democratic) security, repressing the student and rebellious expressions or any other activity that interferes with the normal academic process (normal being classes in classrooms, set learning hours, professors who believe they have the ultimate knowledge and authority, in other words traditional education) is subject to expulsion! In addition a new security model is trying to be implanted by opening up the university to the city, taking away the gates and put in more then 500 security cameras, allow full police access as well as stronger spatial and territorial control. 
There are plans to also turn the university into a shopping complex with a food plaza and elevated pedestrian shopping center walkways that connect the Transmilenio of the Kra 30 with the station on the calle 26. In the end it appears that the management only wants a model of a student that is obedient, quiet, respectful of the (unjust) laws of this country, uncritical and that never thinks or acts for them self. It is a student obedient to the market, corporations and the State. The model of a business University?
In agreement with this development model for corporations and machines and not for people, we spoke about how companies like Nestle are behind the privatization of our rural areas when they buy coffee at low prices and impose only one kind of variety making farmer dependent, also that more land is being distributed to cattle then to peasants. 
Accommodating a market controlled by large wealthy landowners, companies and yes the paramilitary dung beetles. Coca-Cola also came up and how it is imposing models for the privatization of water with its front companies like Manantial that steals water from la Calera and Chingaza that is for the people in Bogotá. Other companies too like Agua Cristal that is in the macizo colombiano appropriating the water of the indigenous and peasant communities.
In reference to this we spoke with the university ants that it is important we also plant, not only ideas but also plants and trees as is the case of the university gardens (today there are 6: “La Manuelita” in agronomy, “Maloka” or “EEE” in humanities, “Girasoles” between law and medicine, by biology, by economics, and lastly architecture!) where a variety of insect students have planted corn, beans, arracacha, carrots, more corn, quinoa, spinach, collards, potatoes, tobacco, sunflowers, lulo and well a lot more corn and other plants. Also different trees have been planted as part of a reappropriation and reforestation campaign of the University’s green spaces. 
We made the invitation that we don’t speak of territory in the university though that we create territory in our daily activities in our university. The farmers shared that now twice they have had to denounce that security has been sent to destroy the set up for a seed bank that the ants and other insects had constructed. They have sabotaged it twice in one month and in “La Manuelita” have uprooted some corn!… who is it that is so bothered by life and one who plants some plants instead of war? In the end, the insect students told us that if “they knock them over again; we will just plant more gardens.”
Many liked the spiral of time and the contrast between the nightmare and the ants’ resistance. There was a lot of laughter, especially when we spoke of popular festivities in where the chicha, guarapo, and the chirrincho are shared instead of drinking so much beer. 
These insect students sure do love their fiestas, music and happiness! We concluded and reflected that the model of the university that we insects want will not serve the multinationals such as what is already occurring. Our investigations and reflections, our own proposals, should help strengthen processes not only of the student movement though also outside of the university, towards a populace that is so diverse, so campesino, so indigenous, so afro, so roma (“gypsy”), so barrio, so simple …what we are saying is a university for the people, for all of the people!. The changes need to start to be realized from in our classrooms, discussion spaces, assemblies, garden plantings and in the fiestas, where we sing our songs of rebellion and autonomy.
